The Department of English was established in 2006 with B.A.
General Programme initially and B.A. Honours was introduced in
2007 with a limited number of seats: 30. Gradually the intake
capacity for 1
st year B.A. (hons.) has increased and is currently
85. However, there has been a persistent staff shortage since the
initiation of the Department. Currently, we are a dedicated and
energetic group of seven faculty members with varied academic
interests and contributions. The Department stands focussed on the
wholistic development of the students and promotes Liberal
Humanities to empower students to venture out into cross-
disciplinary practices beyond the college.
