The Department and IQAC of the college have jointly organised a Faculty Development Workshop on “Teacher Skill Development Programme for ESL Learners” where Rituparna Mukherjee, Department-in-charge, Department of Communicative English, Jogmaya Devi College, Kolkata, conducted the day-long event where faculty members from six neighbouring colleges participated along with the faculty members of this department. It was rather a small group in which we had intense discussions regarding the problems we face in teaching the students of Murshidabad. One outcome of the workshop was an agreement to build up a network between colleges to combat the problems. This is in process of getting materialised in the near future.
